Smart Technology Helping as you get Older

Many of us, as we age want to stay in our own home as we get older. We don’t want to be put into a Caring Centre or move in with our family. We want to continue with our independence.

But as we get older, independent living can become difficult. We might forget and our movement is much slower. Your family wants to know you’re safe and comfortable at home but they can’t be there all the time. Smart Home Technology not only gives everyone peace-of-mind but it makes your life easier and most importantly, safer.

A smart home for all ages.

Our smart home security system is equipped with many devices that can streamline your day-to-day life. Not only does it help you at home but it also secures your home from intruders.

Professional Monitoring

With your GoKonnect Smart Home Security System, you can rest assured that your home is being professionally monitored 24/7. It’s always good to have an extra set of eyes on your home in an emergency. In the event of a break-in and/or an emergency, our monitoring experts will contact the appropriate authorities.

With our smart home system, you can completely control your home from anywhere. That include emergency circumstances. For instance, if you have the Panic Button Pendant (which you can wear on your wrist or around your neck) and experience a fall you can push that button and the alarm will sound. This will alert your monitoring station and they will request help. If you have family members added to your smart home app, they will also be alerted.

It starts at the front door

Lighting your home

Having to turn on/off your lights every day can be difficult for older people. Your Smart lighting lets you do this from your smartphone. If your light is too bright, dim it to 50%. If you want a warm relaxing colour, you can do that too. Link your bulbs with your motion sensor in the same room and have the light turn on automatically when entre. The best feature is that, if you are hard of hearing, you can link a bulb with your video doorbell camera, so if anyone rings the doorbell the light turn on.

CCTV Cameras

There is nothing worse than not knowing. Cameras are a great way to secure the outside of your home. With night vision and motion detection, you’ll know of anything suspicious happening around your home, day or night. Our cameras are always aware and keep you notified throughout the day, with real-time alerts. All of this you can view from your phone.

Smart Heating

With the GoKonnect thermostat, you can adjust the room temperature on your way home from town. Or you can set schedules to have turned off in the morning and then heat the house in the evening.

Your smart thermostat also learns from its environment so that a window is open, it lowers the heating saving you energy and money.
