7 Things to make your home safer and smarter.

7 Things to make your home safer and smarter.

Security systems do only one thing, prevent break-ins. But with a Smart Home Security System, there is so much more to which it can help you. From smoke detection to an alert if someone unexpectedly opens a window, all functional even when it’s disarmed.

Improving your home security is very simple, but having a smart home security system makes it even easier and more efficient.

1. Upgrade your lighting.

Well, lit homes are off-putting to burglars. They don’t want to be seen while they break into your home. Installing a porch light or a side flood light is a great way to deter burglars. Most floodlights come with a built-in motion sensor so you can turn it on and forget about it.

Giving the impression that someone is at home is straight forward. Leave a light on here and there, turn on the radio or tv. But having to do that every day before you leave is frustrating and you may forget altogether.

With our Smart Lighting, you can do that remotely, or better yet schedule specific rooms to turn on at chosen times. You can even set “Events” that when a motion sensor is triggered, your porch light or hall light turns on. The best part is, your system doesn’t need to be armed, for this to work.

2. Smart Door locks and Door/window contacts.

The ground floor is the most vulnerable part of your home. Unsurprisingly, buglers break-in through one or your windows or your front door. It’s important that all doors and windows on that floor are protected as best as possible.

Putting smart locks on your front door allows for complete control over who comes and goes. Your house keys will work as normal but with a smart lock, you don’t need them. Paired with the door keypad, you can give each member of your family their own unique user code. When it is used, you’ll know who it is exactly. You can even remove users or change there access code periodically. If you don’t need the keypad, you can lock and unlock your front door remotely or when your system is armed or disarmed.

With sensors on your windows, you will know of any unusual activity such as a window opening at 3 a.m. or if there is a break-in. At night, during the summer you can leave a window open for some cool air. Your system will still arm.

3. CCTV Cameras

Having visible cameras is always good as it shows visitors and potential burglars that you have eyes outside. What they may not know is that with our cameras you can live view, record clips as you go and even get motion detection alerts from anywhere.

4. Fire, Smoke, and CO2 detectors

Our smart detectors work seamlessly with our system. In the event of a fire or detection of high levels of CO2, you will receive instant alerts. And even if you don’t respond the monitoring station will contact the authorities for you. The problem with traditional detectors is that when you’re not home, what do you do if something happens.

5. Video Doorbell camera

Your front door is the most important area of your home. It is important that it’s secure against treats but welcoming to family & friends. The video doorbell camera is a stylish slim piece of equipment that gives you motion detection, live view, two-way talk, instant notification and remote access to your smart door locks. All from your smartphone.

You could answer your front door from anywhere in the world and speak to visitors. You could even ask the delivery guy to leave your package with a neighbor or open your front door remotely and ask him/her to leave it inside.

6. Flood detectors

Placing flood sensors in areas you think have leaks or places that, in the event of heavy rain, may succumb to water damage, is a great way to minimize the damage done by flooding.
